I am pretty "green" in the orchids world. Bought my first plant from a neighbourhood market, a very ordinary purple and white dendrobium. I wept over the lost a lovely phalaenopsis - a birthday gift from my husband and a few others, all without a name. Subsequently, I learned that all orchids have a name, an origin. So, I started a quest to find them out.But it was tough, there were simply too many species and hybrids out there. I am not quitting. In the meantime, I have added to my collections some other interesting species and hybrids like oncidium, ascosenda, vanda, aranda, cycnoches, mokara, brassovola, colmanara, degarmoara, howeara and encyclia. Most of them are new to me but I will try my best to know them better. In returns, they have spice up my life with joys and colours. August 2008
