New Dendrobiums

I recently purchased two new Dendrobiums for my collection, one a hybrid and the second a species, both related–The first one is Dendrobium Nestor:

This beautiful and fragrant deciduous cane Dendrobium came with a number of buds, all open now–

I love the hairy lip–These flowers have wonderful fragrance–D. Nestor is a cross between D. parishii and D. anosmum–Speaking of D. anosmum, the second one is D. anosmum var alba ‘Snow Angel’:

This is the white form of the species D. anosmum, not as common as the typical form, which is similar in color to Nestor–

These are both relatively young plants–The canes are upright in their pots now, but I plan to grow these without staking, to allow the canes to hang down as they do in nature–Deciduous Dendrobiums drop their leaves when the canes mature and need a dry winter rest and bright light with cool nights in order to flower well–These are a great addition to my small collection of these types of Dendrobiums–
