We were in the neighborhood and needing supplies to decorate our place.
We popped in to look around. Big Lots is sometimes the place to find unusual items.
Overall, you can find furniture here. Anything from beds, couches, recliners, tables, chairs, to side tables and lamps. They also have kitchen items, home and decor, lawn and garden, health and beauty, tools, food, some car stuff to paint items.
Some items are legit quality. Some are ok. For example, I needed a couple paint brushes. They got the job done. When finished, I threw it away. Well worth the project. I found car mats that were generic, but holding up. The foodie here can be hit or miss. Look at the dates to make sure when it expires.
Big Lots sells your everyday items. They are a discounted retail store. Close out items. If you like it, buy it. Sometimes, you come back and it's gone!
We didn't have any problems with the employees here. Some aisles were a little challenged. We just picked thru to find our treasures.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Liana J.San Diego, CA15219101Jan 10, 2022
Big Lots is great for discounted doggie sweaters, and they are surprising of decent quality considering their normal prices are $10-13 only. The only issue I have is that they do not publish a sizing guide anywhere, not online or on the physical tags, and the sizes are very inconsistent between different styles, even though they are all made specifically for Big Lots. Makes it very difficult to order online. To save you some trouble, my 13.5lb terrier pup is a size small. Medium works if I wash it with hot water and hot dry to shrink it a bit, but really it's meant for maybe 20lb dog, large can probably fit a 30-35lb dog. I didn't see any XS online but I swear I had bought some in store that were too small before, so they must exist.
Anyway, I ordered a bunch of sweaters as After Christmas sales, and I got suckered into buying some discounted Christmas decoration too. Don't even waste your time on these. Yeah, they are crazy cheap, like under $15 for a teardrop wreath, so I took a chance on a couple designs, figuring if they are not quite up to par, I can always use them as base and add on nicer accents. These are so poorly constructed that there is no saving them. Globs of hot glue congealing over all the fake pine branches so they are no longer pliable, glitter falling everywhere (including into the dog sweaters that came in the same box), and branches and poinsettias just popping off...
So I came to this particular Big Lots to return these horrible decor items and a couple of the sweaters that did not fit. The greeting was chilly when I asked the cashier standing by the door where I could return my online purchases. It got nastier when I told her it was Christmas decorations. Did she assume I bought and used them, then came to return them? I got them days after Christmas if she bothered to look at the receipt. She called her manager over to approve the return, and the manager looked just as sour. Overall, just a bizarre interaction, and I left feeling like I was being chastised for returning something that was junk and not worth the money. I might shop in person once in awhile at another location, but definitely will not be ordering online again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I was in the store and the manager told another guest it's not his problem or job to get something down from the back area. Myself and the other customer both walked out after hearing that and the other customet was a elderly gentleman

YES! Big Lots is not considered a high-end store, but to my surprise, they have products I didn't know existed, not to mention needed. Bellow you will notice my "Honeycomb Tiny Items" organizer. Perfect for my fellow, well-organized shopping brothers and sisters, who know how these little things can look chaotic when thrashed around aimlessly in a drawer!!! I'm sure the likes of The Container Store has similar items if you're willing to pay 4X that. Additionally, the service at the Big Lots, Clairemont Square has great service. If this particular store doesn't have the product you're looking for, it's a GIVEN that the cashier will check on their computer which Big Lots in town does have it.
With great service and good products as Big Lots, I can see that this store will thrive, as they should. Thanks everybody at Big Lots, Claimont Square, you guys ROCK!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I purchase a metal 10 x 12 gazebo for $1100 and a very rude African-American lady with red hair patches I believe she was in charge because she was telling other employees not to help me put the gazebo out of the store
they put it out of the doors of the storage inside the store areas and I had to carry it out by myself
A nice man employee name Xavier saw that I was trying to lift really heavy furniture boxes and he came out and helped me put them in my car thank you Xavier and CiscoHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Usually have a pleasant experience when I come in here. The employees are helpful, its stocked and clean. Today however I came in for some toilet paper but they were sold out. No big deal yah, its pandemic time and everyone is sold out. Figured I would ask the employee just in case. He informed me they were all sold out. I'm fine with that, that is the case everywhere. However upon leaving the store I see 3 employees walking out with cars full of at least 5 packs of 12 to 18 rolls a piece. Apparently they only sell to employees and dont uphold the maximum amount with said employees.

I have to give Lisa, who worked at the checkout a big A PLUS for her amazing customer service, genuine kindness, and friendly conversation. My husband and I truly found her to be a special person who deserves to be recognized for her kind personality and professional work ethic. Great Job, Lisa! You make Big Lots a great place to shop.

What a fun store! I feel like Big Lots has gotten better over the years.
I love their home decor and kitchen goods. They even sell furniture here! You'll find beds, desks, drawer etc. for cheap. They also sell bed sheets and comforter sets. I've bought a few cookie sheets and pyrex from here before. I've also gotten wall art from here.
They have a few aisles of shampoos/conditioners and also food. I don't buy any toiletries or food here since they're not really a name brand. Also, I'm not sure how long the food has been there. I go to Target or the grocery store for these items.
One section I do like here is their DVD section. DVDs are $5 some even $3 and they also sell Blu-Ray.Helpful 26Thanks 0Love this 26Oh no 0 - Thuong T.Hacienda Heights, CA317019399944Jan 11, 2018
