When I bought this Cattleya orchid yesterday, the single flower was still in bud, but it was obvious that it was going to be yellow. It was one of the cheapest that were sold in Collectors Corner.
The foliage look very healthy and it has few more smaller bulbs (single leaf). I can see a tiny sheath on each tip of the short bulbs (future blooms ?). On the name tag, it is written that the Cattleya is a cross between two well known breeds : Blc. Nakornchaisri Delight (rusty orange, yellow with red lip) x Blc. Haadyai Delight (bright yellow with a blush of orange on the lip) .
Today, the flower is almost fully open and I am delighted with the colour combination of deep yellow with red purple lip. The frilly edges of the petals and lip make it prettier.
Note: Blc. is short for Brassolaeliocattleya

Kombinasi kuning cerah dan ungu megah…jarang banget lihat seringnya ubgu putih dan kuning memerah. Selamat menikmati autumn season jelang winter.

Sekarang warna kuningnya semakin terlihat ke-oranye-an. Autum kali ini dingin sekali sudah spt winter.
