GUYS š I was walking around my room doing a growth check (yes, with my turbie twist on š§āāļø lol), and went over to the lil orchid babies and saw a new leaf on one! So of course I excitedly ran my finger over it and (embarrassingly) started congratulating Leilani and telling her I was proud of her, and thatās when I suddenly realizedā¦ ITāS NOT A LEAF, ITāS THE START OF A SPIKE (!!!) and I suddenly lost all brain functioning for about 2 minutes while chaotically repeating āoh my god, oh my godā and attempted to record a video explaining why this was such a huge deal for me. (P.S. ā Letās be thankful that we canāt upload videos to Greg for now, because some things are better left unseen lmao.) This freaking orchidā¦ Iāve put her through hell. I accidentally overfertilized and burned her less than 2 weeks after getting her in March of this year. After nursing her back to health, I then stressed her out again when I moved in May. I got her as a younger orchid, so Iāve never seen her bloom irl (although Iāve seen pictures š„µ). In fact, none of my orchids have bloomed yet, Iām definitely a #NewPlantParent when it comes to orchids. Even though #Paphiopedilum orchids are terrestrial and moisture-loving, Iāve been doing a shitty job maintaining her watering schedule. TL;DR ā Sheās not only survived in spite of me, but my āproblemā orchid just happens to be the first that will (hopefully) bloom! What are the chances?! š„³ In case you canāt tell, Iām really f*cking excited. Brain still not fully recovered from the surge of glee. Geez, nature is pretty cool dude! šø #OrchidLovers #OrchidOrg #RareOrchid #ResilientPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #PlantShelfie

Anyone have any experience with brown tips on a #Paphiopedilum #Orchid thatās potted in a well-draining orchid growing medium in an orchid pot with lots of air flow/holes?

Hey #OrchidLovers, how often do you water your slipper orchids #Paphiopedilum)? šø My #PaphiopedilumOrchid has been looking a bit worse for the wear recently. I noticed that one of her leaves has a split in it, and other have yellowed. Iām suspecting a watering issue. Has anyone else ever had symptoms like this with their slipper orchids?

Help with slipper orchid Anyone know what could be wrong with my slipper orchid? She was doing fine but now has these small brown spots on some leaves. And one leaf is yellowing. Sheās not in direct sunlight. I donāt know if it could be over or under watering. Any ideas? š¤

As requested, hereās the vinicolor paph, fully opened. š¹Wish me luck. Iāve had no success with paphs in the past, really hoping I can figure them out this time. They are notorious slow growers. This hybrid is paph Superbly Wood. Love the macabre look. #Paphiopedilum #OrchidLovers #OrchidOrg #GregGang #NewPlant #FreshBloom
