‘Creed’ is enjoying another successful week in the box office after capturing almost $30 million domestically in its first spell, but it’s also succeeding in putting everyone in a very ‘Rocky’ mood. That, inevitably, leads us to ‘Rocky IV’.

The 1985 film’s giant Russian antagonist, Ivan Drago (played by Dolph Lundgren), spoke just nine lines of dialogue in the entirety of Rocky IV, which has to be some kind of record. But to the film’s credit, these nine lines perfectly summarize the entire plot — from Drago’s rise, to Apollo’s death, to Rocky’s rise, to the Russian’s downfall. Don’t take my word for it:

1. “You will lose.”

2. “I cannot be defeated.”

3. “I defeat all men.”

4. “Soon I defeat real champion.”

5. “If he dies, he dies.”

6. “I must break you.”

7. “He’s not a human. He’s like a piece of iron.”

8. “I fight to win, for me. For me!”

9. “Until the end.”

And, well, we all know what happens next.
