Import of Olympus RAW images to Photos

Hello,

I like Photos. It is fast and flexible. But it seems not to support RAW-format of om-d Olympus cameras. Am I right, or, hopefully, just missing something? No jokes, I prefer Photos to the slow and bulky Workspace of Olympus. So if I miss something, please, give me a tip, how the Photos can be adjusted for RAW Olympus images?

Thank you in advance

If it is a very recent camera it might not be supported. Here is the camera support list.

If your camera is not supported you might need to convert the raw photographs to DNG using the free adobe converter.

Which model is it?

You can never be sure, if a new camera will get RAW Support from Apple at all - some cameras have never been supported by Apple, even if the predecessor has been supported, for example, if the sensor has been changed considerably or the compression algorithm. You may want to convert the RAW files to another lossless format, while you are waiting, for example DNG or TIFF. Then you can use them in Photos, while preserving the quality.

Adobe's DNG Converter is free: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh

léonie, I see, there is not much sense in waiting for the next version of Photos.

As for the model, this is om-d e-m1 mark iii, the same sensor as in its predecessor, but different processor (TruePic IX). This kind of processor is currently only in e-m1 m3. Even Olymus's flagship e-m1x has TruPic VIII.
