The patches are often arranged in a classic “christmas tree” distribution. The sometimes itchy eruption typically lasts several weeks or a few months and will resolve on its own. Occasionally, it is mistaken for other conditions such as psoriasis, ringworm, or eczema. Treatment options include antihistamines to improve itching. topical steroids, or oral antibiotics.
