Guarianthe Skinneri is a purple orchid and the national flower of Costa Rica. It blooms during the late winter and early spring with four to fifteen purple flowers that are around 3.5 inches wide. It is found on tree branches in humid locations from 650 to 7500 feet. It can be found in every country in Central America. There are four variations of Guarianthe Skinneri: Cabeza Grande, Alba-Oculata, Alba-Debbie, and Coerulea.
