Common Name Gheisbreght's Mexicoa [Mexican Orchid Collector 1800's]
Flower Size1 1/4 to 1 3/4" [3 to 4 cm]
Found in Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, Mexico and Oaxaca states of Mexico in mountainous oak forests at elevations around 1400 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic or lithophytic species that has ovoid, conical or pyriform, grooved pseudobulbs with 2 apical, linear or linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring through fall on a laxly few [3 to 6] flowered, simple, erect to arcuate, 5 1/2" [14 cm] long inflorescence that is subtended by several sheathing bracts and arises on a newly forming pseudobulb.
