I don't think I ever wait, when I see a strong robust vanda with a large dbl inflourence and big lush green leaves at my grower I don't hesitate to buy it. Especially if its a spectacular colour or pattern or somthing I don't have. I'm a sucker for vivid & rich colours. Another kicker for me is finding a young plant that is an aggressive grower and shows signs of being a prolific bloomer. Example; a V. JVB x Ascda. Butterfly which I posted on the boards some weeks ago now is a young vanda that had a dbl spike for its first blooming and every blooming since. My grower immediately recommended I get it. Well of course the rest is history

All the blooms have been open for maybe a bit over a week now and I think this is as big as they will get given this is its first ever blooming. I was a bit surprised as my friends blooms are much larger and flat, but then again it wasnt its first bloom so that would explain why mine is less true to form. Its still gorgeous though! I may have to cut off the spoke soon though as to not stress the young plant anymore and encourage it to produce some more roots; it has very little new root production and I want some nice thick new roots!
