I just realized that this is the same plant my good friend Linda (catlady on OB) brought to me as a gift yesterday!
The cross is known as:
(Lc Tristar Bouquet)
-or-
Cattlianthe Tristar Bouquet
(Cattleya Rosette Warland x Cattlianthe Chocolate Drop)
Mine has one bloom that's on it's way out but she told me she has 2 others and both of them have multiple spikes and each spike has multiple blooms and buds!
We have the potential of a GREAT plant ahead of us
Thanks for the addit. info, confirmed same on Orchid wiz so will add to lable. Good luck with your plant, I'm enjoying mine. Very happy considering I had made a note when I repotted from spag. to bark in Jan this year and there was considerable root rot...so must be a hearty grower.
Thanks Susanne, I'm definately a better grower in bark than in spag. moss!! Glad this plant has turned around anyways. Where abouts in Florida is Spring Hill? We vacation in Florida every year and last spring I had the opportunity to see the Fairchilds orchid festival, which was incredible!!!
no scent and color is actually alot more mauve/purple than what the camera portrays.
I stand corrected. I took the plant in to our meeting today and my friend commented on the smell. Guess it depends on time of day, or location or something but it actually does have a fairly strong, sweet smell.
