Paph. Delrosi

(delenatii 'The King' x rothschildianum 'Eureka' AM/AOS)

Source: Pine Crest Orchids
Potting: Medium Bark Mix/ 6.5" clear plastic pot

This is a very nice plant in my opinion. It has three mature size growths! This is the first time it's bloomed for me (I bought it not in bud a month ago), and it's sent up a solitary flower. The single flower is pretty nice, it has a deep colored pouch although it looks lighter in the photos than it really is. It has a nice natural spread as well. I'm expecting great things from this plant when the second bloom cycle comes around.. An ideal situation would be next time two of the three growths bloom, each with three flowers to a stem but I'd be more than happy with one growth with three nice sized, deep colored flowers. I've posted a couple of pictures just to give you an idea.

Paph. niveum ('Great White' x 'White Knight')

Potting: Medium Bark Mix/ 3.5" green plastic pot

I've had this plant for some years now and it's always been a reliable bloomer. The measurements are pretty close to Paph. niveum 'Marriott Quintessence' AM/AOS so I'm going to take it March 6th to D.C. and get it judged just to see what happens.

Phrag. Cape Sunset

(Eric Young 'Mt Millais' 4N FCC/RHS x schlimii)

Potting: Medium Bark Mix/ 4.5" green plastic pot

I stopped by Steve's booth at the Maymont show and after talking to him for a while and looking at the other Cape Sunsets he had I decided I needed one! It just opened up a few days ago and I like it very much. I don't think it's very awardable but beautiful nonetheless! It was hard trying to get the colors right on this one so I took a couple of pictures to give you an idea.

Paph. Esperance

(Skip Bartlett x Burleigh Mohur)

Source: Chadwick & Son Orchids Inc
Potting: Tindara Mix/ 4" clear plastic pot

I found this at the annual Maymont Flower Show in Richmond, VA and had to have it. It embodies just about anything I could ask for in a modern white/pink complex hybrid. Now I only need to find a dark red complex; something that's been crossed with Paph. Winston Churchill to give it lots of warts on the dorsal sepal.

Paph. (Omdurman x Rozalee)

Source: Pine Crest Orchids
Potting: Orchids Limited Mix/ 4" clear plastic pot

This is a new modern complex Paph hybridized by Lee Bloomreich at PiCrest Orchids in Charlottesville, Virginia. The picture if from it's first bloom. It has yet to be registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in England. The pollen parent, Paph. Rozalee was just recently registered as a new hybrid. I bought this since it is a new complex with the hopes of it being a dark color and having warts from the Winston Churchill in the parentage. Although being dark it lacks good shape and leaves much to be desired such as the absence of warts on the dorsal sepal, and the natural spread being pretty small for a complex hybrid. You never know what you'll get with a new Hybrid. I still like it though for it's color even though it's far from perfect.
